Pakboat Kayak Accessories
The Saco deck is made of 600 denier polyurethane coated polyester fabric with an attractive diamond shaped rip-stop pattern. The cockpit is 36 inches long to make it easy to get in and out of the seat. Saco decks have a solid support structure built in, and they can support a deck bag. The decks weigh 4.9 pounds (2.2 kg). Decks for 2014 and newer Sacos have deck rigging included, and color options are blue or yellow.

The cockpits are 36 inches long to make it easy to get in and out of the seat. The decks have a solid support structure built in, and they can support deck loads. The double deck weighs 8 pounds (3.6 kg). Decks for 2014 and newer Puffin Saranacs have deck rigging attached, and color options are blue or yellow.

The Pakboats Spray Skirt has two mesh pockets, one on each side, and a tensioned flexible bar across elevates the skirt to prevent pooling of water. The spray skirt is made of nylon. It fits both Puffins and XT kayaks, including the Quest (Cockpit inside dimensions are 33″ (84 cm) long and 17″ (43 cm) wide). Since 2015, these Spray Skirts have been made in the USA.
The Cockpit Cover is made of the same rip-stop material as the Puffin and XT decks with a lighter sleeve around the perimeter. The cover is secured with a draw cord and wedge lock combination.
The foot rest has a comfortable inflatable bar across to rest feet against. The position is adjustable while on the water by a strap attached under the forward edge of the seat. The foot rest can be installed in both Puffins and XTs.
Repair Kit Made specifically for PU (polyurethane) boats, the repair kit includes fabric patches for the sides and bottom, a can of adhesive and comes in a draw string nylon bag.

Pakboats has adapted Scotty’s standard Mount Board so it will clamp securely to the gunwales on Puffins and PakCanoes. The Mount Board accepts three of Scotty’s accessories in any combination. You can have three fishing rods. You can have just one or two rods and a cup holder and/or GPS. There are quite a few possible combinations to suit your needs.
Foot controls for the rudder are added as additional pedals on the foot pegs, and the pedal position can be adjusted freely without affecting the rudder control wires. The SmartTrack rudder housing can be installed with a simple bracket that is screwed to the end of the kayak skin. Due to a very low pivot point, the rudder blade is small and minimizes effects of any cross winds. For sailing or any other application requiring more rudder surface, a larger rudder blade is available. Changing rudder blades is very quick and easy.
Foot pegs can be installed in all Pakboats kayaks without preparing the kayak in any way. Needed brackets have been pre-installed in all kayaks made after 2017. The Saranac will even accept the foot pegs at all possible seat positions (bow, center and stern), and the pegs have large flexible pedals that are exceptionally comfortable and will serve as foot controls for an optional rudder.
A rudder can be installed onto bolts that are part of the stern. You just have to add the rudder cords (included with the rudder). The foot pegs can be adjusted in steps of 1” without readjusting the cords.
The Pakboats kayak strap is 1 inch (2.5 cm) wide, made of custom woven polyester with a strong spring loaded metal cam buckle. The strap is perfect when you want to secure your kayak to a roof rack or trailer. The kayak strap is 9 ft (270 cm) length.
